In Year 2020, the big
difference will be created in the
demand of Data storage
Hard
disk maker leading company (Seagate)
vice president Mark Whitby revealed in an interview given to
the tech radar that in the next two years the world could face famine
of data storage.
Replying to a question, he
said that we are entering a world
where every device will be connected to each
other and those arising from the voluminous data we hope to being resolved the
various issues.
But the devices till 2016 hard-drive
engaged in large data center with a total capacity of storing more data. In 2013, the total data stored in the
hard-drives devises were about 3.5 Zeta Bites (35 and 20 Zeros smile emoticon. I
t is expected that the data
generation would be 44 Zeta bytes per year in 2020
Zeta byte word may be unfamiliar
to many readers. But during the next few
years, you will start to deal with this term.
How much capacity will be needed to
store a single zeta byte data. This
idea is exemplified that 32 gigabytes
of storage approximately 34.3597334 billion apple iphones has total capacity of
one zeta byte.
Mark Whitby
added that In 2020 the world will have a
data storage capacity
of the generated digital data will be more than six Zeta bytes. The difference between the
supply and demand in 2013 will be increased more than twice of total data.
In
response to the question if in the world storage is at risk of famine, why the
hard-drive making companies do not increase their production, Mark Whitby said “unfortunately, the
difference between supply and demand problem is not easy to solve.
The fact is
that making data storage devices for storing data
is more difficult than creating the data. As we will need more and more space to store important information
and data in the future, therefore, we need additional industries and factories
to the job for us but it will need million and trillion dollars as well.
That is why it is not the realistic solution. The reason of failure
to eliminate the difference between supply and demand is also that technology
which we are currently using. We need an advance technology to store the data, because, we are going
to cross the limit of data storage.
